OMG... I can't believe that Rhyder is 1, this year has gone by SO fast and he has grown a lot! I was talking to my mom today about what he has done and how advanced he is for his age and thought it would be fun to share with you! Here are a few things that he has done along the way!
3 weeks he started holding his own head up
3 months he was eating baby food
4 months he started sitting up on his own
6 months he started pulling himself up to things and eating regular food
7 months he was crawling ALL over
8 months he decided to start walking EVERYWHERE, he got RSV and had to get tubes.
9 months is when he thought it would be a good time to pop out 2 teeth while mom and dad were on vacation. He also decided it was time to start crawling UP the stairs.
10 months he discovered how to run and then began going DOWN the stairs (yes there is still a gate up)
He has a HUGE vocabulary... Some of his favorite words to say are: deer, hat, dog, elk, up, down, hi, bye, bite, that, more, mama, dada, baba, ball, and nana (banana)
He LOVES to be outside, waving, dogs, riding on the 4 wheeler, and hats. He will take the phone and hold it up to his ear and says hi then looks at us and laughs. It has been a fun and exhausting year in our house hold. There was a point where he had an ear infection for about 3 months straight and got RSV. He is now sleeping pretty much through the night and is usually SO happy! He is starting to understand what we tell him to do, for example he will take the remote or our phones and walk away with them and then come back, we will tell him to go get the remote (or whatever he took) and he will go get it and then bring it back to us. He is noticing things more, we will ask where the trees are and he will point to them. He will point at a deer and say deer. Rhyder has somewhere learned how to smack his lips together and that means he wants food hahahaha! He has started to get shy/stranger danger and cry when one of us leaves which breaks my heart!
I will say when I was pregnant I would always say I hope he is smart and is a happy baby and I will say we are extremely blessed that he is just that. With him being our first baby we didn't really know how advanced he was. People would tell us but we didn't think anything of it until we were at the hospital for him to get his tubes there was another little boy that was 14 months and his mom was shocked Rhyder could walk (8 months) and was telling us how her little boy couldn't crawl and hadn't even started trying to and that is when I realized that No I didn't want my little baby to grow up but that I was PROUD at how smart and good he is!
