I took Rhyder to the ENT (ear, nose, and throat) doctor to check his ears. They said that he has a lot of fluid in his ears. Then the doctor told us that they like to give it 3 months to see if the fluid would go away. My mom of course came with since Ben couldn't and I was stressing! (Like always) and she brought up a very good question... She asked the doctor if the fluid could have been from his first ear infection in January... The doctor said it could be but there is no way to tell. He then told us if we were to take him to Vegas and make him put money on whether Rhyder would need tubes or not he said that he is going to say eventually he will. So with that being said the decision needed to be made between doing tubes now or doing them later down the road and wait to see if the fluid went away. We left and I called Ben to talk about what we should do! As parents it is ruff to see your little baby go through pain. We have already been seeing him go through pain for a little over a month now. He doesn't sleep, he pulls his ears, and HATES laying down. With all that being said we are going to just do it and get it over with! Which I hope helps! Being a stress and paranoid freak I am extremely nervous even though I know so many people who have had it done, but the thought of my 8 month old baby getting put under and having surgery is just something I never thought we'd have to do and here it is going to happen! I know he will be fine and it will turn out okay but ya know!

good luck! I hope your little one starts feeling better :)
ReplyDeleteHe is getting tubes on your birthday!? Geez. Happy Birthday right?? Rhyder will be totally fine, but it's hard to put him through the pain. I felt similar when I had to put Shia under for surgery and then see her all looped up for the next few days (I know she's not a human child, but it's the closest thing I have right now!). Good News is, He will be SO much better afterward.
ReplyDeleteSo sad! But I hope the tubes make him feel better. Let me know if you need anything :)
ReplyDeleteI'm SO sorry! Did you go get a second opinion? I ended up having tubes put in my ears for the same reason, and so did Brittan. I wish that I would have been a hell of a lot younger than I was when I got mine done. I'm sure that everything will work out great but in the mean time I'm sorry about all of the stress!
ReplyDeleteYes Miki! What a wonderful 21st birthday right?!?! Ha ha but it was my choice to do that day! As a mommy I was not willing to wait until May 9th and let him be in pain! I know it will all be okay and he will be fine it is just SCARY!!! I tear up when I think about it. Thank you for everyone's support!!!
ReplyDeleteI will keep him in our thoughts. I'm sure he'll do fine - after all he is a Cameron :)
